My current day to day radio is the Yaesu FT-51r. I purchased it on a recomendation from a friend. The biggest feature for me is the speaker / microphone has a display that shows the current frequency. Most of the radio functions can be controlled via the buttons (6) on the microphones.

I've been able to use the radio to work the Amateur Radiolaunched FM Satellites.
